Why an Expert Witness?

Daniel M. Marble has worked
with the Western Child Welfare Law Center since retirement -
first as an expert witness and later as director of the Expert
Witness Program. In the course of that work it became clear that
many good agencies were being sued by attorneys for former
clients. Some of those suits had some merit, many did not. In
all cases, the agencies attorney needed an expert to evaluate
agency practices to help determine if the agency had been
compliant with applicable regulations, thus allowing the attorney
to accurately evaluate the case. Unfortunately, it is very
difficult to find such experts.

attorney with an important resource in the event that a problem
does arise.
